The 75th anniversary of the Second World War in Europe being brought to an end was celebrated by dozens of New Carron households.

Residents of the village’s Stephens Croft and Waterfurs Drive soaked up the sunshine last Friday as they held social distancing-friendly street parties to mark VE Day.

Families bedecked themselves and their homes in red, white and blue for the occcasion, which saw all in attendance raise glasses and mugs at 3pm in remembrance of the official ending of the conflict in 1945.
