Households in Church Street and Waddell Street held social distancing-compliant celebrations as villagers of all ages headed outside to commemorate the ending of World War II in Europe.
Residents raised mugs and glasses at 3pm in honour of the anniversary – the same time Prime Minister Winston Churchill made an announcement on the radio in May 1945 that the war on this continent had come to an end, following Germany's surrender the day before.
The celebrations also generated £360 which will be split between Dementia UK, The British Legion and Strathcarron Hospice.
