Two separate cases of COVID-19 confirmed at Grangemouth High School

Pupils and staff continued to go to classes at Grangemouth High School today after it was confirmed two individuals at the school had tested positive for coronavirus.

A Falkirk Council spokesperson said: “We can confirm contact tracing is being carried out at Grangemouth High School after two unrelated cases of COVID-19 were confirmed.

“Initial information suggests the individuals contracted the virus outside of the school and there is no evidence at this stage of any transmission within the premises. “Close contacts are being identified and advised to self-isolate in line with national guidance. Robust control measures were already in place and the school remains open.”

This is the third school in Grangemouth to have a positive COVID-19 tests in the last week – both the nursery at Beancross Primary School, in Kenilworth Street, and Carrongrange High School, in Oxgang Road, are also now subject to NHS Forth Valley’s Test and Protect team procedures.
