Employees lined themselves outside Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert at 8pm as the UK applauded all the doctors, nurses, pharmacists, GPs and other key workers helping those affected by Covid-19.
The weekly event first started on March 23 after Dutch yoga teacher Annemarie Plas, who lives in south London, shared an Instagram post urging others to “clap for carers”. Her idea then went viral.

Hide AdMs Plas (36) last week told the PA news agency she will no longer be taking part and said: “To have the most impact I think it is good to stop it at its peak.”
She now plans to establish a charity inspired by her Clap for Carers idea which will fundraise for projects encouraging community cohesion.
