NHS Forth Valley has extended the operating hours of its flu helpline and increased the number of staff manning the phones following a “busy" first week.

The health board began carrying out flu vaccinations last Monday, having sent out appointment invitations by letter to all those who are eligible.

“We also have a dedicated email address for flu enquiries – [email protected] – and would encourage anyone who experiences any difficulties getting through on the phone to send an email with their name, date of birth and telephone number so that a member of the flu immunisation team can call them back.”

Due to Covid-19, a different approach is being taken to maintain physical distancing, meaning the majority of people will be immunised in a local ‘community hub’.

Venues such as Falkirk Town Hall and Dobbie Hall in Larbert have been booked for use, with each person being seen within a 15-minute appointment time.
