NHS Forth Valley has extended the operating hours of its flu helpline and increased the number of staff manning the phones following a “busy" first week.
The health board began carrying out flu vaccinations last Monday, having sent out appointment invitations by letter to all those who are eligible.

However, one member of the public told The Falkirk Herald how they had tried to contact the number 36 times without success.
A spokeswoman said: “Our flu helpline has been busy over the last week, however, we have increased the number of phone lines and staff available to answer calls.
“We have also extended the hours of operation and the line is now open from 8am-8pm Monday and Friday and 8am-4.30pm at weekends.

Due to Covid-19, a different approach is being taken to maintain physical distancing, meaning the majority of people will be immunised in a local ‘community hub’.
Venues such as Falkirk Town Hall and Dobbie Hall in Larbert have been booked for use, with each person being seen within a 15-minute appointment time.
