Grangemouth based John Mitchell Haulage & Warehousing has added the name of the Forth Valley cancer care centre to one its lorries - maintaining a company tradition that dates back over 50 years.

Maggie’s is one of a number of health heroes adopted by the haulier for this year’s initiative.

Previous themes have included 2012 London Olympians, and World War One Victoria Cross recipients.

Each of its tractor units put into service will be named after a healthcare charity - and each will also get a cash donation.

Lynsey Mitchell, business support supervisor at John Mitchell, said: “We aim to raise awareness of the selected charities during the year, who will all have their names and logos displayed on an assigned vehicle.”

Christina Pouso, centre fundraising manager, said: “This is such a fantastic gesture from a local company which recognises the work we do across Forth Valley. “
