Mobile phone and Wi-Fi access has been upgraded across Forth Valley Royal Hospital to help patients keep in touch with their families during the coronavirus pandemic.

NHS Forth Valley has confirmed improvements have been made at the Larbert hospital so those receiving treatment can stay connected to loved ones.

The announcement comes after a member of the public raised a complaint due to the difficulties they had experienced when trying to make calls.

An NHS FV spokeswoman said: “In addition, we have landline phones with mobile handsets and tablets in our wards which patients can use to communicate with their families while they are in hospital.

“We would encourage any family member who has difficulties contacting a patient while they are in hospital to speak to the nurse in charge of the ward who can provide advice and support.”
