Falkirk district claps for NHS and carers

The emotional ‘Clap for Carers’ tribute took place around the country as people came to the doors, windows and balconies of their homes to say thank you.

Members of the Royal Family and Prime Minister Boris Johnson also showed their support by clapping at 8pm.

In an Instagram post, NHS Forth Valley said: “Thank you to everyone who showed their support for our fantastic NHS tonight. Our staff are working so hard to care for the people across Forth Valley during these incredibly challenging times.

also in an Instagram message, the Queen said the country was "enormously thankful" to the people on the frontline of the UK's response to the virus, which causes the Covid-19 disease.

She said the UK was grateful "for the expertise and commitment of our scientists, medical practitioners and emergency and public services".
