Carrondale Care Home in Carron is one of just three nominees in the running for the title of Care Home Service of the Year.

The winners of the 2020 awards ceremony, which was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, will be announced online on January 22 by Dr Donald Macaskill, CEO of Scottish Care.

Carrondale Care Home was previously a finalist in the same category in 2018.

Graeme Hendry, director of Avondale Care (Scotland), which runs the facility, said: “The management and staff were absolutely delighted when I told them.

“They’ve worked so hard. It’s doubly hard working in a care home these days, trying to deliver a high quality of care but you’ve also got coronavirus to worry about.

“It’s because of the great management and staff that we got nominated. Hopefully we win it this time. It would mean so much to the staff.”
