NHS Ayrshire, NHS Arran and NHS Lanarkshire have announced they are temporarily postponing all non-urgent elective surgeries.

“Staff are continuing to deliver care to local patients who require urgent care and treatment and are also working very hard to ensure patients who are well enough to leave hospital are discharged or transferred as quickly as possible to help free up capacity for those who require to be admitted.

“We have not cancelled non-urgent operations but are keeping this under regular review and ensuring more urgent operations and outpatient appointments continue to be prioritised.”
