The daily figures released by the Scottish Government now include those who have been tested through the UK Government (UKG) testing programme as well as those through NHS Scotland labs.

In the last week the figure has increased by over 100 and now stands at 1056 people who have tested positive.

However, the government admits this will be an underestimate of the number of cases. Not everyone with the virus will display symptoms and not all those with symptoms will be tested.

Coronavirus positive cases have risen in Forth Valley

A total of 231,525 people in Scotland have been tested through NHS Scotland labs and UKG to date. Of these, 213,369 were confirmed negative and 18,156 were positive.

In Scotland overnight there were 26 new cases and no deaths.

There are currently five people being treated for coronavirus in Forth Valley’s hospitals.

The number being treated in the intensive care unit at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert is less than five, although the exact figure is not released if it is below this number.
