Update on Falkirk Council school meals during Easter holidays

Falkirk Council won’t be providing meal service “grab and go” bags for children during the Easter fortnight’s holiday starting on Monday – but some households will be compensated.

The council plans to resume the “grab and go” service from Monday, April 20.

Meanwhile the authority says it recognises the difficulties of the current situation and the challenges families are facing, and aims to make an additional one-off payment of £35 to parents and carers of particular groups.

These are pupils who qualified for and received a clothing grant during this term, and all S5 and S6 pupils who do not get a clothing grant but qualify for school meals.

Where payments are normally made directly into bank accounts these will be made by Tuesday, April 7, and where normally made by cheque the cheques will be issued by post on Wednesday, April 8.
