Twelve cases of Covid-19 recorded in Forth Valley in last 24 hours

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Forth Valley has risen by 12 in the last 24 hours.

The Scottish Government’s daily data on Sunday showed the increase in Covid-19 cases confirmed in the health board region over night.

This follows an increase of eight on Saturday.

The number of cases in the region has now reached 1293 since the outbreak began.

These latest rises come as cases across Scotland and the UK continue to increase.

According to the daily figures, there have been 63 cases confirmed in Forth Valley in the last seven days.

On Sunday, there were 245 new cases recorded in Scotland and no new deaths.

The previous day there had been 350 new cases – the highest daily increase since May.

A total of 723,456 people in Scotland have been tested since the outbreak began, with 24,371 testing positive and 699,085 confirmed negative.

NHS Forth Valley has confirmed that a ward at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert has been forced to temporarily close to new patients and visitors due to cases of Covid-19.

A student at Stirling University has also tested positive.
