Latest statistics issued this afternoon by the Scottish Government show that there are now 918 people who have tested positive in the region.

There are currently 15 people being treated in Forth Valley hospitals, one fewer than yesterday.

Of these, less than five are in the intensive care unit at Larbert’s Forth Valley Royal Hospital. If the number is below five then it is now revealed by the government.

A total of 104,880 people in Scotland have been tested through NHS labs to date. Of these, 89,695 were confirmed negative and 15,185 were positive.

However, the government has said this will be an underestimate of the number of cases. Not everyone with the virus will display symptoms and not all those with symptoms will be tested.

Yesterday, 2977 tests carried out by NHS Scotland in hospitals, care homes or the community, making a total of 152,202 COVID-19 tests through NHS labs to date.

In addition, there were 1448 drive through and mobile tests carried out by the Regional Testing Centres in Scotland bringing the total to 53,259 tests to date.
