Rise in Forth Valley deaths from Covid-19

This is an increase of 34 in the last week and the total has more than doubled in the past fortnight.
Across Scotland, there have been 2272 deaths since the pandemic began.

Hide AdFirst Minister Nicola Sturgeon said yesterday (Wednesday) that six of those deaths were NHS staff and five worked in the social care sector.
It was also revealed that more than half of all deaths in Scotland were in the country’s care homes.
In Forth Valley 717 people have tested positive for Covid-19, an increase of 28 overnight and an increase of 148 in the last week.
There are currently 92 patients being treated in hospital, 15 fewer than Tuesday and six of these are in intensive care.

Hide AdNHS Forth Valley says it has the potential to carry out around 200 tests every day at its centres in the grounds of Falkirk Community Hospital, Bowhouse Community Centre and Stirling Health and Care Village.
