There have been no Covid-19 related deaths in Falkirk district in the last seven days.

Latest figures from the National Records for Scotland, covering the period from July 20 to 26, show the total number of coronvirus deaths locally since the outbreak began remains at 136.

Across Forth Valley there have been 239 Covid-19 related deaths, again with no new ones recorded in the last week.

Scotland as a whole has now seen 4201 people die where Covid-19 has been mentioned on their death certificate.

The news comes as Wednesday’s daily figures from the Scottish Government show there has been one new recorded positive case of the virus in Forth Valley, bringing the total positive cases locally to 1092.

It is the first increase in the health board region since Friday, July 17.

Over night from Tuesday to Wednesday, 22 new confirmed cases were recorded by Scotland’s NHS boards.

Throughout Scotland a total of 352,494 people have now been tested for coronavirus.

Of these, 333,914 were confirmed negative and 18,580 were positive.
