New opening hours for Falkirk's Howgate centre

The Howgate shopping centre in Falkirk has announced new restricted shopping hours.

From this week it will be open 10am till 3pm, Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays.

It will be open only to access the stores listed as essential by the Scottish Government during the coronavirus crisis which include: supermarkets and other food shops, pharmacies including non-dispensing pharmacies, home and hardware shops, newsagents and post offices, as well as market stalls which offer essential retail, such as grocery and food”

The centre’s car park will remain closed.Only Pleasance and High Street entrances will be open.

A spokesperson for the centre said: “Please observe social distancing guidelines and use the markers on the floor in queuing areas. Please only visit for essential items/services.

“We have a small number of staff on site to keep the centre as clean, safe and secure as possible.

“The best advice is to stay home and stay safe.”
