More positive coronavirus cases in Falkirk Council area

The number of people testing positive for Covid-19 across Forth Valley continues to rise.

In the last 24 hours there has been 12 news cases.

This takes the total of new cases identified in the past week to 82.

In the Falkirk Council area in the last week there have been 35 people testing positive, an increase of 13 on the previous seven days.

The total number of cases in the local authority area until yesterday was 794.

Sadly, there have been 141 coronavirus-related deaths registered in Falkirk district up to September 13.

In the last week the ratio of new positive cases per 100,000 in the Falkirk area was 22.

The average area in Scotland had 19 putting the district in the current top ten ‘hot spots’ for coronavirus..

Today the Scottish Government confirmed there had been 465 new cases in the last 24 hours with 2677 cases detected following a test in the past seven days.
