More Covid-19 hospital cases in Forth Valley

Another two people are in hospital for coronavirus treatment in Forth Valley.

Latest statistics issued this afternoon by the Scottish Government show that the number has again risen and now stands at 14 people who have tested positive for the virus and require hospitalisation.

Less than five of these are in Forth Valley Royal’s intensive care unit.

The government does not realise the exact total if it is below five.

Another two people have also tested positive for Covid-19 overnight, bringing the total since monitoring began to 944.

A total of 120,601 people in Scotland have been tested through NHS labs to date. Of these, 105,048 were confirmed negative and 15,553 were positive.

However, the government has said this will be an underestimate of the number of cases. Not everyone with the virus will display symptoms and not all those with symptoms will be tested.
