More than 900 people in Forth Valley test positive for coronavirus

Over 900 people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in Forth Valley.

Latest figures released this afternoon by the Scottish Government show that another 13 people tested positive overnight taking the figure to 909.

There are currently 14 of these people being treated in Forth Valley hospitals with less than five of them in the intensive care unit at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert. The government does not reveal the actual figure if it is below five.

A total of 97,607 people in Scotland have been tested through NHS labs. Of these, 82,638 were confirmed negative and 14,969 were positive.

Of the people who have tested positive:

3508 inpatients have been discharged from hospital since March 5

874 were in hospital last night: 38 were in intensive care, with another 12 with suspected Covid-19 in intensive care

2245 have died.

Yesterday there were 3858 tests carried out by NHS Scotland in hospitals, care homes or the community, making a total of 139,183 COVID-19 tests through NHS labs to date.

In addition, there were 1884 drive through and mobile tests carried out by the Regional Testing Centres in Scotland bringing the total to 47,651 tests to date.
