Latest update on Forth Valley coronavirus cases

There has been a slight increase in the number of people in Forth Valley testing positive for coronavirus.

Figures released this afternoon by the Scottish Government show there are now 883 in the region who have tested positive, an increase of three since yesterday.

There are currently 19 people being treated in Forth Valley hospitals for Covid-19 with this figure remaining unchanged since Saturday.

Less than five of these are in intensive care at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert. The government does not release the exact figure if it is below five.

A total of 90,421 people in Scotland have been tested through NHS labs to date. Of these, 75,766 were confirmed negative and 14,655 or 19.3 per cent were positive.

Yesterday there were 2854 tests carried out by NHS Scotland in hospitals, care homes or the community, making a total of 127,536 Covid-19 tests through NHS labs to date. In addition, there were 1705 drive through and mobile tests carried out by the Regional Testing Centres in Scotland bringing the total to 40,740 tests to date.
