Jump in number of positive Covid-19 cases in Forth Valley

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in Forth Valley has again risen.

The figures come as NHS Forth Valley reveal staff are carrying out around 200 tests every day.

There are currently 96 people being treated in the region’s hospital with or suspected to have Covid-19, an increase of 13 since yesterday.

Of these, six are being treated in intensive care.

There have been 655 positive tests in Forth Valley, a rise of 49 in the last 24 hours.

Ninety deaths in Forth Valley are said to relate to coronavirus ,

In Scotland there have been 1231 deaths.

A total of 47,749 people in Scotland have been tested. Of these, 37,698 were confirmed negative and 10,051 were positive.
