Increase in positive Covid-19 cases in Forth Valley

There has been another increase in people testing positive for coronavirus in Forth Valley.

After 48 hours with no change in figures, the statistics issued by the Scottish Government this afternoon reveal there are now 839 people who have tested positive, this is a rise of 11.

There is also now 28 people being treated in the region’s hospitals, an increase of one since yesterday.

Of these, five are being treated in the intensive care unit at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.

The number of people in the region whose death has been linked to coronavirus is 156 and of these, 86 were in the Falkirk Council area.

The next update on deaths is due on Wednesday.

A total of 74,063 people in Scotland have been tested through NHS labs to date. Of these, 60,436 were confirmed negative and 13,627 were positive.
