Further Covid-19 deaths in Falkirk area

There have been further deaths from coronavirus in the Falkirk Council area.

Figures released this afternoon by the National Records of Scotland covering the period for the last seven days show that the total Covid-19 deaths for the district now stands at 136.

This is an increase of two – and the first recorded in the area for three weeks.

Both deaths took place in care homes.

To date there have been 67 deaths in care homes, 54 in hospital and 15 at home within the Falkirk Council boundaries.

In Forth Valley, the total deaths linked to Covid-19 now stands at 239.

Of these, 121 were in care homes, 94 in hospital and 24 at home.

Across Scotland there have been 4193 deaths from coronavirus.

The number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus in Forth Valley stands at 1092 with no new cases reported for the last five days.
