Fall in Covid-19 patients in Forth Valley hospitals

The latest figures released by the Scottish Government show there are currently 78 people being treated in Forth Valley hospitals for coronavirus.

This is a decrease of 14 in the last 24 hours.

Of these, seven are being treated in intensive care at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

There have been 724 people in Forth Valley who have tested positive for Covid-19, a rise of seven overnight.

NHS Forth Valley has said it has the capacity to carry out 200 tests every day at its three testing centres in the grounds of Falkirk Community Hospital, Bowhouse Community Centre and Stirling Health and Care Village.

However, they do not provide a daily update of how many tests are actually carried out.

Seven days ago they said around 1300 tests had been done.

The number of deaths from coronavirus in the region now stands at 124.

In Scotland a total of 54,639 people have been tested. Of these, 43,286 were confirmed negative and 11,353 were positive.

The number of people who tested positive and have since died is 1475. However, that doesn’t include the majority of the deaths which have taken place in Scotland’s care homes.

Yesterday it was revealed there had been 2272 deaths linked to coronavirus in Scotland since the pandemic began.
