The district’s death toll from coronavirus now stands at 126 with a further three people dying in the past seven days, according to the National Records for Scotland.

Two were at home and one in hospital. There have been 61 care home deaths in the Falkirk area, 50 in hospital and 15 took place at home.

Scottish Government figures show 948 people in Forth Valley have tested positive for Covid-19 since monitoring began.

This is an increase of six in the past week, but there was no increase from Tueday’s figure on Wednesday.

There are currently nine people being treated in hospital, one less than in the last 24 hours.

Fewer than five of these are being treated in the intensive care unit at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert – the government does not release the exact figure if it is below five.

A total of 130,104 people in Scotland have been tested through NHS labs to date. Of these, 114,439 were confirmed negative and 15,665 were positive.

However, the government has said this will be an underestimate of the number of cases. Not everyone with the virus will display symptoms and not all those with symptoms will be tested.

Of those who tested positive in Scotland and were treated in hospital, 3839 have now been discharged since March 5.
