The latest data was released by Public Health Scotland and is based solely on the number of people who had received their first dose of the vaccine before January 31, 2021, not on those who had received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

The percentages of people vaccinated in each area are estimates based on the population size of over 16’s, they are not exact figures.

Na h-Eileanan Siar is still technically top of the list with the highest vaccination rate in terms of the number of people vaccinated per population, with 19 per cent having received their first dose.

However, the percentage is so high as the population is relatively small in comparison to other council areas.

4,223 people have been vaccinated in this area to date.

Glasgow City has the highest overall number of people vaccinated, with 44,810 residents having received their first dose.

Because of its size, this is roughly 8 per cent of the overall population of Glasgow City, which makes it number 25 out of 32 council areas on the vaccination rates list.

Following Na h-Eileanan Siar in having high vaccination percentage rates is Angus and the Shetland Islands.

Both areas recorded that roughly 16 per cent of their eligible population have received the first dose of the vaccine.

Following these, fourth on the list is Dumfries and Galloway, this health board area has vaccinated 18,834 people which is 15 per cent of its over 16 population.
