Blackpool v Huddersfield Town - live updates

Key Events

  • FT: Blackpool 0-3 Huddersfield Town
  • Seasiders aiming to make it back-to-back league wins
  • Ollie Turton set to make his return to Bloomfield Road after surprise summer exit

Huddersfield defender Matty Pearson is shown a yellow card for a foul on Tyreece John-Jules.

“That’s the third time that’s happened”, you can see John-Jules shout at the referee.

A left-wing cross is inadvertently hooked over the Huddersfield bar by Jonathan Hogg, gifting Pool a fairly cheap corner.

Luke Garbutt’s delivery reaches Kenny Dougall at the back post. The midfielder catches volley sweetly, but keeper Lee Nicholls is equal to it with a flying save.

That’s the clearest either side have come so far.

Huddersfield have the chance to launch the ball into the Blackpool box with a wide free-kick, but the delivery is poor and it’s straight to Chris Maxwell, who makes a simple catch.

Away side looking a little mediocre so far. There’s certainly a few moans and groans coming from the away end.

Blackpool are dealing well with Huddersfield defensively so far. The away side have offered very little in the way of an attacking threat.

Josh Bowler does superbly to beat his man on the byline, but Huddersfield have men back and the winger is short on options. He eventually looks to cut the ball back to the edge of the box, but the away side scramble clear.

20 - Huddersfield chance

The visitors hit back with a headed chance of their own, as the unmarked Harry Toffolo sends his effort well wide of goal. Should have made Chris Maxwell work, at least.

Luke Garbutt’s deep free-kick is headed back across the face of goal and wide by Kenny Dougall. The Huddersfield keeper never looked troubled though.

17 - A chance, of sorts...

Huddersfield play a long ball down the right to Sorba Thomas, who looks pretty pacy. But Chris Maxwell is off his line quickly to claim.

That’s exciting as it gets so far.

Still nothing to separate the two sides here.

Pool have overhit a couple of long balls into the channels early on, but it’s clearly a tactic they’ve worked on. Something to keep an eye on.

Huddersfield enjoy their first real sustained spell of pressure in the Blackpool half, but it comes to nothing. The move ends with the ball rolling out for a goal kick.
