Coronavirus in Forth Valley: Intensive care and hospital numbers rising

The number of people in intensive care in Forth Valley with coronavirus has doubled in just five days, as today brought another steep rise in cases.

Today’s figures show that 61 new cases were detected in Forth Valley.

A total of 2565 cases have now been detected in Forth Valley since the start of the outbreak, up from 2504 yesterday.

The number of people in hospital in the area who have tested positive is 46, up from 43 yesterday.

12 of those people are currently in intensive care, which has increased from 6 in just five days.

A total of 960,642 people in Scotland have been tested at least once. Of these people, 59,201 have tested positive.
