Coronavirus in Forth Valley: Big increase in new cases

Forth Valley and the Falkirk area has seen another large rise in new cases of covid19, according to today’s figures.

The number of people in hospital with the infection continues to rise.

Today’s stats show that 75 new cases were detected in Forth Valley.

A total of 2950 cases have now been detected in Forth Valley since the start of the outbreak, up from 2875 yesterday.

The number of people in hospital in the area who have tested positive is 46, up from 41 yesterday.

10 of those people are currently in intensive care.

A total of 1,018,582 people in Scotland have been tested at least once. Of these people, 69,660 have tested positive.
