Coronavirus: Forth Valley sees biggest rise in five months

There were 42 new cases of coronavirus in Forth Valley overnight, with a rise in the number of people being treated in hospital, figures show.

A total of 1631 cases have been detected in Forth Valley since the start of the outbreak, up from 1589 yesterday, according to Scottish Government data.

It is the largest overnight rise in Forth Valley since April.

The number of people in hospital in the area who have tested positive is 13, up from nine yesterday.

A total of 812,862 people in Scotland have been tested.

Of these, 33,706 were positive.

244 people have died in Forth Valley as a result of coronavirus.
