Coronavirus: 45 new cases recorded in Forth Valley overnight

A total of 45 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded in Forth Valley in the past 24 hours, according to Scottish Government data.

The number of people in hospital in the area who have tested positive is 18, up from 15 yesterday.

Since the start of the outbreak, 1,829 cases have been detected in Forth Valley.

Scotland as a whole has recorded 956 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours – but no deaths have been registered.

The number of new, confirmed infections across the country is down from the 1,009 cases on Saturday and from Friday’s record high of 1,246 positive test results.

This represents 14.9% of newly-tested individuals, up from 14.1% on Saturday.

Symptoms of Covid-19 include a high temperature or fever, a new, continuous cough and a loss of, or change in sense of smell or taste.
