Coronavirus: 43 patients record positive tests in Forth Valley

According to the latest figures released by the Scottish Government today, there have been three more positive cases confirmed in the region since yesterday.

The news comes as the country experiences its first day in lockdown after Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation on Monday night tightening the restrictions on people’s lives as the world takes steps to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

To date Scotland has recorded 584 positive test results for the virus, from a total of 9968 tests that have been carried out.

There have been 16 patients who tested positive for coronavirus who have died.

Residents across Falkirk district, and the whole of the UK, are for at least the next three weeks only permitted reasons for leaving the house will be shopping for basic necessities “as infrequently as possible”; doing one form of exercise a day alone or with members of your household; getting medicine or going to the doctor; providing care or help to a vulnerable person; and travelling to work “only where this is absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home”.

Police officers will have the powers to enforce the rules, including through fines and dispersing gatherings.
