Army medics supporting Falkirk's coronavirus vaccination programme

The army has been drafted in to support Falkirk district’s coronavirus vaccination programme.

The local health board was offered use of Forth Valley College’s campuses in Falkirk, Stirling and Alloa at the start of February as Scotland stepped up its campaign to tackle Covid-19.

NHS Forth Valley’s inoculation programme is being assisted by the 1st Armoured Medical Regiment – based in Tidworth, England.

Discussing her experience of the programme, she said: “It’s going really well.

“All of the NHS staff are working amazingly and we just try to help them. They’ve been so welcoming.

“I’ve been here for a week. I have a lot of people asking me where I’m based.

“The public have been really good, everyone’s been really friendly.”

Thanking Falkirk district residents for their warm welcome, Ms Beal added: “All of the feedback has been positive.”
