Pupils walk in memory of Grangemouth teaching assistant

A primary school will be marking the life of a much-missed teaching assistant with a memorial walk on Friday.

All the pupils at Grangemouth’s Bowhouse Primary School will be taking part in the event to remember Rhona Clarke, who sadly died last year.

Head teacher Lynda McDonald said: “The pupils will all be dressed in bright colours and will set off for Jupiter Wildlife Centre in Wood Street, where they will enjoy a packed lunch before returning to the school.”

Each pupil will donate £1 to dress brightly and the money collected will go towards a memorial for Mrs Clarke, with the remainder going to the Young Carers charity.

The school was in a state of shock when Mrs Clarke died on September 26 last year, leaving husband Graeme and children Joanne and Kevin.

Initially coming to the school as a parent volunteer, she was a support for learning assistant there for 15 years.
