Parents feared the worst after two boys from the P1 class of a local primary left school grounds at break time and never came back.

Police had to be called after the staff at St Margaret’s Primary School, Salmon Inn Road, Polmont, were alerted to the missing pupils and could not find them.

There were reports of as many as three police cars searching the streets of Polmont.

The two boys were eventually found – thankfully none the worse for wear- reportedly in Marchmont Avenue, which is almost a mile away from the school.
