IN PICTURES: Author pays pupils a visit on World Book Day

Pupils at Moray Primary School had a special visit from author Michael Kerins to mark World Book Day.

The annual celebration of books and reading took place this year on March 2 with children throughout the UK getting involved of lots of activities.

In many nurseries and schools youngsters were encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character.

There were also visits from authors and at Moray Primary in Grangemouth the P4 to P7 pupils were treated to Micheal Kerins reading from his popular books and getting them involved in his storytelling.

Born and brought up in Glasgow, this accomplished storyteller is best known for his character ‘weetom’.

He has also received several awards including the ‘All Scotland Tall Tales Storytelling Oscar 2008’ and the ‘Aye Write Tall Tales Oscar 2010’.
