Funds will deliver new school for Falkirk

Falkirk Council’s Mariner Support Service at Weedingshall in Polmont helps secondary-age school children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural issues.

As part of the final phase of the government’s £1.8 billion ‘Schools for the Future’ programme it will receive a share of a £230 million investment to relocate to a ‘custom built’ facility geared to helping them hit their goals.

Justice secretary Michael Matheson met staff and pupils at Weedingshall today.

He said: “This government is working hard to improve educational standards across the country to make sure every child in Scotland has the opportunity to achieve their potential. Part of that is making sure they have the right physical environment to learn in.”
