Pupils and staff at Braes High are now responsible for the Best Breakfast Club in the UK after coming out on top in a nationwide Kellogg’s contest.
A team of youngsters and teachers were invited to the House of Commons in London last week for a ceremony in which the school finished in first place — ahead of 11 other regional winners.

Pupils from S1-S6 are encouraged to choose their own ingredients, sourced from Balquhatstone Mains farm, Slamannan and equipment to prepare their meal.
The initiative has been running for over a year on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to bring together various strands of school activity, including health and wellbeing, and ensure youngsters are well prepared for learning.
The club also helps to poverty-proof the school day.
Braes High depute headteacher Marjorie Cotter said: “This project has had an incredible impact on young people by not only ensuring they start the day with a healthy breakfast and positive attitude, but by teaching them the skills to provide for themselves.”
