The sale by Colliers International on Asda’s behalf, the 130,000 square foot industrial unit, located in Westmains Industrial Estate on the Falkirk side of the M9, is one of the largest industrial transactions in the East of Scotland so far this year.

The property is one of two large warehouses which became vacant after Asda invested in the massive new distribution hub at Earls Road.

Bryce Stewart, Colliers International director, said: “This highlights the continued demand for industrial space in general. West Mains has excellent transport links.”

Duncan MacPhail of Asda said: “The two buildings became vacant following the development of the new Asda Scottish Distribution Centre, which extends to 500,000 square feet.”

Operating from the new depot Asda can serve its stores throughout Scotland.

Whyte and Mackay has not yet revealed its plans for the newly acquired property.
