Bulldozers have confined the famous McCowan's toffee factory in Stenhousemuir to history.

The site at the corner of the village’s Tryst Road and King Street has been flattened to make way for a proposed 22,000 square foot retail outlet and family friendly restaurant and pub.

The project is being promoted by Stirling-based developers Ramoyle Group.
