Susan Bell, from Laurieston, and friend Donna-Jane Dick, from Carron, both work with children and they were looking to get a bit of a break and lower their stress levels last year.

Susan said: “Donna-Jane and I have been pals for years. I had heard of flotation tanks but never tried them then one of my friends posted something on Facebook about a flotation centre in Edinburgh.

“She said it was the best experience of her life so Donna and I decided to go through last October and have a shot. We both instantly fell in love with the pods and actually had the same idea at the same time about bringing these pods to Falkirk.

“They say the pod is meant to bring out the creative side and it certainly did for us.”

The good friends decided to become business partners in mid-November and Res(e)t Float Centre was born.

“We started looking for business units and pricing three or four different types of pods. We ended up buying two I-sopod flotation tanks.”

The i-sopod flotation tank is said to be a “sleek and stylish spaceship” designed to transport the user to “a new and all all-encompassing world of absolute calm and tranquillity”.

Then the duo found a unit to site them in Abbotsford Business Park, just off Falkirk’s Northern Distributor Road.

“We are going through the process of signing for it just now,” said Susan. “If everything goes through okay we would be looking to open in April. I think that’s a good thing because if we were open now, no one would actually be able to use the pods because of the COVID-19 restrictions.”

The pair came up with the name Res(e)t name because it suggests the words ‘rest’ and ‘reset’ which are both associated with the feeling people get within the I-sopod.

Susan said: “There are lots of health benefits people can get from the pods – it can help with insomnia, arthritis and relieving stress. It can also be used by sports people who are recovering from injuries.”
