The VisitFalkirk team, a partnership between Falkirk Council and local tourism operators, earned the best destination stand award at this year’s VisitScotland Expo – the third straight year it has received the prize.

Featuring more than 200 businesses and organisations that represent the best in Scottish tourism, the Expo is one of the most important business to business marketing events and allows areas like Falkirk to highlight what they have to offer to national and international group tourism operators.

Falkirk Council’s economic development officer Tracey Martin said: “Promoting the Falkirk area is important as we pull in tens of thousands of visitors from the UK and abroad who, in turn, support the local economy.

“For the first time this year we extended the range of businesses exhibiting alongside us and the Falkirk display showed the many attractions we have to offer and highlights how attractive a destination Falkirk is for tourism operators.

“Picking up an award for the third year running shows that our approach is working and we can compete amongst the best Scottish tourism has to offer.”

Judges were impressed by the VisitFalkirk stand’s clear signage and branding and how it demonstrated a good interaction and collaboration between partners.
