Initially, shoppers were concerned that the company could be planning to close the current Falkirk store and relocate its entire operation to the retail park.

But this was denied by M&S who said: “We remain committed to the existing store and any new store will
complement our existing offering.”

Yesterday (Wednesday), an M&S spokesperson said: “We’re looking forward to opening a new M&S Foodhall at the Falkirk Retail Park in the Autumn.

“M&S Falkirk will bring 61 new jobs to the area, ranging from customer assistants to visual merchandising and hospitality.

“Those wishing to find out more or apply should visit the M&S careers website.”
