The 500ml bottles – produced with ethanol made at the Ineos Grangemouth site – are being offered to care organisations across the local area and distributed by the local authority’s stores and procurement teams.

Around 500 bottles of hand sanitiser have already been distributed to more than 19 care organisations in the area, with more deliveries planned.

Councillor Fiona Collie, Falkirk Council spokesperson for health and social care, said: “We’d like to thank Ineos for this generous donation of hand sanitiser, which is already helping staff and residents in care services across the Falkirk area.

“Keeping our hands sanitised is one of the most effective tactics we have in the fight against Coronavirus. Clean, sterile hands allow us to continue providing essential services such as care.”
