Ice cream shops in the Falkirk area collected a cool £5500 for Strathcarron Hospice yesterday

The three local branches of ice cream sweetie shop Candied re-opened yesterday and coined in an amazing £5500 for Strathcarron Hospice.

Candied owner Amrit Dhillon opened the shops in Grangemouth, Denny and Rumford at noon on Monday, stating he would be donating profits made to the hospice.

He said: “I felt we would raise over £4000 but we managed to get to £5500. It was an amazing night and I’m so proud of the team, they worked so hard, I couldn’t have asked for any more from them.

“Great support from the local communities they really got behind the initiative. We truly saw the best of humankind yesterday – during such uncertain and challenging times the community spirit was heart warming.”

Amrit has long been a champion of Strathcarron Hospice and raised funds for them as far back as 2015 in the name of his father Harry Dhillon who died at the hospice in that year.
