The Greggs shops in Carron Road, New Carron and La Porte Precinct in Grangemouth are among 800 across the UK which have opened their doors for takeaway only.

New measures are in place to help protect both customers and staff during the coronavirus pandemic, including a limited menu and card only payments.

Only one adult per household is allowed in the shop, although children can join them if needed; floor markings and a one way system have been introduced to ensure the two-metre distance can be maintained. New screens are also in place at till points.

Measures in place to protect staff include increased focus on its already high standards of handwashing, 30-minute cleans for all equipment and key touch-points and zones marked out behind the counter with staff following specific ‘roles’ to avoid crossing into another person’s station.

Staff have also been provided with personal protective equipment.

Greggs says it will “continue to look for the best ways to serve customers whilst keeping everyone safe”.

If all runs to plan, the company aims to have all of its shops operating with the new measures in place by July 1.
