The new Res(e)t Float Centre, in Epoch House, Falkirk Road, Grangemouth was officially opened by local singing sensation and panto star Barbara Bryceland on Saturday and is now booked solid for the rest of the week.

Co-owner Susan Bell said: “The opening day was amazing. We were really busy on Saturday, Sunday and Monday with a lot of happy, relaxed and de-stressed people at the end of the day.”

Susan and her pal Donna-Jane Dick and business partner were inspired to open the Res(e)t Float Centre after they had a life changing float in an Edinburgh isolation tank.

Res(e)t Float Centre owners Susan Bell and Donna-Jane Dick said opening the facility was a dream come true for them

Susan said: “Donna-Jane and I decided to go through last October and have a shot. We both instantly fell in love with the pods and actually had the same idea at the same time about bringing them to the Falkirk area.

"They say the pod is meant to bring out the creative side and it certainly did for us.”

The centre has currently got two i-sopod flotation tanks – “sleek and stylish spaceships” designed to transport the user to “a new and all all-encompassing world of absolute calm and tranquillity”.

“There are lots of health benefits people can get from the pods,” said Susan. “It can help with insomnia, arthritis and relieving stress. It can also be used by sports people who are recovering from injuries.”

In the first three days of businesses the pods have been a godsend for a number of clients.

Susan said: “We had a woman who was 38 weeks pregnant and she said she had been in pain for the last three or four months, not being able to get comfortable at all. She said she came out of the pod feeling and had her best night’s sleep in ages.

"A man who has had high blood pressure for several years and suffered heart attacks used the pod and told us his doctor told him his most recent blood pressure was the lowest it had been in years.

"There was another person who said they didn’t have to take their anti-inflammatory medication after a session in the pod.”
