Fiona's award is the icing on the cake

A new business was named the New Enterprise Allowance Business Start Up of the year at an awards ceremony in Glasgow this week.

Dainty Decadence Cupcakery was set up by Fiona Gillis from Bonnybridge in October 2016,with help from business advisors at Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce,

Since then it has gone from strength to strength with hundreds of followers on Facebook and a full order book keeping Fiona busy.

The New Enterprise Allowance programme is a programme of support, delivered by a range of organisations, including Forth Valley Chamber. Fiona said she found the help and advice available to her invaluable in getting her business off the ground.

Forth Valley Chamber CEO Michelle McKearnon said, “We were delighted one of our Start Up businesses picked up the winner’s award as the best in Scotland. This reflects not only on Fiona’s fabulous cupcakes, but on the standard of support offered by our business advisors.”
