Falkirk superstores forced to recall items after plastic found in breakfast cereal

A recent alert from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) reports traces of plastic have been discovered in a brand of breakfast cereal which had been sold in Falkirk area superstores.

Branches of Aldi – in Redbrae Road, Camelon and Greenpark Drive, Polmont, have been forced to recall 375 gram packets of Harvest Morn Crisp Rice.

The specific packets which may contain traces of plastic have the best before date November 21 and the batch numbers 10470953, 10480953 and 10490953.

An FSA spokesperson said: “Aldi GB is recalling this product. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores selling this product, explaining to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

"If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”
